Since none of the rim building machines in existence were good enough, the owners of Velocity made their own equipment. A lot of people would take that as a good sign. After all, if you have to make your own stuff, that same drive and philosophy spills over into the product so it isn't surprising when a new wheel comes to market ahead of its' time.

Velocity has invented a wheel that requires fewer steps to make by using a wheel without spoke holes. Its' lighter, easier to make and..... cheaper.

Probably one of the better inventions in a while, the concept hasn't caught like wild fire yet, but maybe if we mention it....

The Zvino rim is stronger than other rims. This is because the load of the rim where it engages the spoke, is spread out over an area larger than normal spoke holes. Called a "Sliding Nipple Seat" system, it results in better load distribution. Whether or not this wheel is easier to assemble, its' stronger and that makes it noteworthy in its' own right too.

As the rim takes longer to assemble, sales have been tepid and they no longer produce it, but manufacturers can use the concept for designs down the road. All the rims they currently produce and market are available on our website.

Now that Velocity is nestled into their new warehouse, supply issues will abate. Larger containers can be ordered and more colors and more rims will be available than ever before.

Armed with a team of wheel builders, we at Every Bicycle Tire have "plugged into" their system. Custom wheels aren't a problem and we love to help build wheels for people.

For those who aren't familiar with Velocity, the rims are strong. So strong in fact, we joke to people sometimes that the rims can be ridden with out the tires. We don't suggest it, but it brings up funny images, doesn't it?

Another neat invention they have are the "Velo Plugs". They weigh less and plug up the spoke holes making the system more complete and safer than rim tape or strips.
